Come, walk through the Word.
The church is more than a gathering you attend. God has chosen to dwell among His people. Come ready to see Christian community as holy ground and every boast as small beside belonging to Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:16–23
16Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;
22Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;
23And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
Stay with the movement.
In this passage, ye is plural. Paul is speaking to the gathered church as God's temple. Their divisions are serious because they are tearing at the community in which the Spirit dwells.
The Corinthians boast that they belong to favored leaders. Paul turns the claim around: every faithful servant is given for their good, while they belong to Christ. There is no need to grasp for status when all things are held beneath His lordship.

Paul uses the temple image for the whole congregation here. God dwells among a people being built together on Christ.
To receive God's wisdom, the self-assured person must release the world's measures of cleverness, rank, and success.
Belonging to Christ settles the question of identity. Leaders, circumstances, the present, and the future cannot become masters over those who are His.

Repeat slowly: Ye are Christ's. Let belonging replace the need to prove, possess, or compare.
Carry the Word into today.
Treat one interaction with another believer as an encounter on holy ground. Listen carefully, speak gently, and protect the fellowship.
Continue in His presence.
Holy God, thank You for dwelling among Your people. Guard me from harming what You call holy, empty me of worldly boasting, and teach me to live gladly as one who belongs to Christ. Amen.
