Come, walk through the Word.
The desire to be approved can become a heavy master. Paul offers a quieter calling: receive what Christ has entrusted, serve faithfully, and leave the final judgment with the Lord who sees the heart.
1 Corinthians 4:1–5
1Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
3But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
5Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Stay with the movement.
A steward does not own the household; he cares for what belongs to another. Paul and the other teachers belong to Christ, and the gospel entrusted to them remains God's treasure. Their central requirement is not celebrity but faithfulness.
Paul refuses to let either public opinion or private self-assessment become the final court. This is not indifference to correction. It is freedom from pretending that limited human judgment can see every hidden motive. The Lord will judge truthfully and bring faithful service into the light.

In a large household, a steward managed resources that belonged to the master. Christian leaders handle a message and a people who belong to Christ.
The standard is dependable obedience over time. Faithfulness may be quiet, overlooked, and unimpressive by the world's measures, yet precious to God.
Paul warns against final verdicts on hidden motives. Necessary discernment remains, but ultimate judgment waits for the Lord who brings everything into light.

Lord Jesus, everything entrusted to me belongs first to You. Free me from the hunger for approval, make me faithful in hidden places, and teach me to leave every final judgment in Your hands. Amen.
