Come, walk through the Word.
Some truths cannot be reached by climbing higher on the ladder of human pride. They must be received as gifts. Come quietly. The Spirit delights to reveal what God has prepared in Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:6–10
6Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

God’s wisdom was hidden, not because He wanted His people lost in darkness, but because His saving purpose could not be discovered by worldly power. It had to be revealed in His time and in His Son.
Verse 9 is often heard only as a promise about heaven, but Paul immediately says, ‘God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit.’ The wonder includes the saving wisdom now made known in the gospel—the crucified Lord of glory.

In Paul’s letters, a mystery is not a puzzle reserved for a few clever people. It is God’s once-hidden purpose now made known by revelation.
Paul places the language of glory beside the shame of crucifixion. The One rejected by earthly rulers is the glorious Lord.
The Spirit knows God perfectly and reveals what human observation alone could never uncover about His saving purpose.

Thank God that you are not required to discover salvation by yourself. The Spirit has opened the way to see Christ.

God of hidden wisdom and revealed grace, open my heart by Your Spirit. Keep me from the pride that trusts only what I can discover, and teach me to receive the wonder of Christ. Amen.
